The Break-Up

I'm officially over winter.

I know I mentioned something similar yesterday, but I don't think you quite grasped the severity of this break-up and my need to completely move on.

Winter needs to straight kick the bucket before I turn into a spring-driven mad woman.

I NEED the bright sunshine that falls softly on your skin and slowly warms you from the outside in.
I NEED the flowers to make their way up from the ground and sprout, bloom and give this dreary world some color.
I NEED to hang up my winter coat in the closet of forgotten clothing, along with my heavy hats, scarves and gloves.
I NEED long walks while pushing the stroller or pulling the wagon and the ability to explore our little corner of the world once again.
I NEED to get out of this house, away from this TV, away from the windows that are a constant reminder that the outdoors are just a few steps away, but unattainable, untouchable... unable to be enjoyed.

We have a winter storm moving through as we speak. First sleet, freezing rain and ice...then up to 8 inches of snow. (Insert long groan and exhausted sigh here.)

Mother nature hates me and the inability to get out and move is such a motivation buzz-kill.

I am so ready for spring.

P.S. - Don't forget to head over to Mouse in the Kitchen and enter the give-away for one of my phone cozies! I'm guest posting over there today as well!

  1. Um, I might just copy and paste on my blog. This is 100% how I feel and it makes me so jealous seeing friends/bloggers/facebookers/instagrammers posting pictures of their 80 degree weather and life in shorts and tshirts already!!!!!

    1. I know, right?!? They make me sick running around in their shorts and t-shirts and I swear just about every out-of-state friend that I have lives in either California or Texas. Show a little mercy for us Ohioans!

  2. I'm one of those disgusting people who have been whispering all winter that I kinda miss snow. I know, I know. Please go ahead and throw things at me. It's OK. I deserve it. It's been three years since I've experienced a real winter and I think I've forgotten just how crappy they can be.

    1. I LOVE snow, I really do. But we've had snow since November... and I'm over it. I know that if we ever lived somewhere that it didn't snow, I would absolutely miss it. But it's March, spring is like 2 weeks away and I'm just over it. Should I say that again? I'm over it!!

  5. Apologies for the sunny snap shots from SoCal. If it is any consolation, while EVERYWHERE else in the world is enjoying sunny and warm in May and June we have 'May-Gray' and 'June-Gloom.' There is a reason those months carry those titles. They are complete wastes of good "summer" months; cool, dreary, often with drizzly weather, and usually little to no sun. BLAH.

    1. I like seeing your sunny snap-shots, it just seems crazy to think that while we are currently buried in 8 inches of snow (again!) there's other's enjoying 80-90 degree weather!
